The Mustangs enjoyed their first home match of the season playing at Wilson Playfield. The Sumner Spartans started the scoring in the 5th minute of the game. Pressing hard, the Mustangs generated opportunities that led to success. In the 19th minute, Dawit Yohanes scored off a thru ball from Gregorio Gonzalez to even the match at 1. In the 33rd minute, Dawit Yohanes played a ball that led Yohan Choi to score the second Mustang goal and his first of the match. One minute later, nearly the exact same play resulted in another Yohanes assist and Choi goal. With the first half winding down, Sumner scored to make it 3-2, Mustangs at halftime. Playing their third match in four days, the Mustangs started to slow in the second half. Sumner was able to score the equalizer in the 69th minute and game winner in the 80th minute. Although it was the Mustangs first loss of the season, they managed a 2-1-0 record, outscoring their opponents 9-6 for the week.
